The activist is not the man who says the river is dirty.  The activist is the man that cleans up the river.

Recycle

Reduce, Reuse and Recycle.  Once you’ve heard it, it’s hard to forget.  Which is a good thing because it is one of the most important lessons learned when it comes to environmental stewardship!  In the age of disposable products, it is important to look at the big picture—that is to look to the future!  Much of what is sent to the landfill doesn’t degrade very quickly, taking years, decades, centuries, or millennia to revert back to original form.

Both Berkeley and Jefferson County's offer opportunities for recycling. Also consider giving functioning items to charity, like Goodwill or Salvation Army
